The student council president of a high school in Chungju, North Chungcheong Province, was declared invalid for an unfair election campaign.

The Cheongju District Court announced that it had ruled in favor of the plaintiff in a lawsuit against the Chungcheongbuk-do Superintendent of Education for the nullity of the decision of the student council executive elected by group A, who failed in the election for the student council president of a high school in Cheongju last July.

Previously, Group A filed an objection to the school after losing the election.

This is because the winning student's side committed unfair acts such as saying to a first-year student, 'I'll buy you a hamburger if you help me with the election campaign,' and posting a slanderous post on social media about the vice-president candidate who teamed up with A.

However, the school did not accept the application for objection, and eventually filed a lawsuit.

It was revealed that the school elections committee did not take appropriate corrective measures, which infringed on the freedom and fairness of elections and affected the results.

It is known that the school will soon organize its position and decide whether to appeal.
