The second special pardon for the Yoon Seok-yeol administration is expected to be carried out today (27th).

Former President Lee Myung-bak is likely to be pardoned and reinstated.

Former President Lee was sentenced to 17 years in prison by the Supreme Court in October 2020 on charges of embezzlement and bribery, and the execution of the sentence is currently suspended for health reasons.

If the amnesty is confirmed, about 15 years of the remaining sentence will be waived.

Former Gyeongnam Governor Kim Gyeong-soo will be pardoned without a lottery.

Former Governor Kim is serving a sentence of two years in prison after being sentenced to two years in prison by the Supreme Court in July of last year for the 'druking comment manipulation case'.

His sentence is due to expire in May next year.

Former Governor Kim is only exempted from the remainder of his sentence, so his right to vote is limited until May 2028.
