Recovery work is underway in the Honam region, which has suffered record-breaking snowfall over several days.

The snow has stopped, but the roads are frozen in sub-zero weather, and the risk of accidents is high because the roads are potholes here and there.

Seven vehicles collided one after another on the frozen road.

One driver was injured in this icy road sliding accident on Bitgoeul-daero in Gwangju, and extreme congestion occurred on the way to work.

More than 30 accidents occurred on icy roads on major roads in Gwangju, including Hanam-daero and Imbang-daero.

In the city center, pothole restoration work is in full swing.

Excavators used for snow removal work secure walking paths by scooping out the accumulated snow.

[Gowon/Gwangju Seo-gu Office Road Division Snow Removal Officer: Since the snow stopped now, there have been a lot of pothole repair complaints, so we are currently repairing potholes using two working teams.]

However, roads in the city center or private lands are still Dangerous.

This is because there is a high risk of a sliding accident or an icicle falling accident, but there is a limit to the reach of the local government.

[Park Gwan-jong/Gwangcheon-dong, Gwangju Metropolitan City: The main road is cleaned up (by the local government).

They clean it up, but they don't clean the alley, so you have to clean the front of your house yourself.] In

Damyang-gun, which suffered the most damage due to this heavy snowfall, the work of cleaning the collapsed facility house continues.

This heavy snowfall damaged 137 agricultural facility houses, 84 farmhouses, and 13 barns and 35 farmhouses in Jeonnam alone.

A lot of snow piled up without melting all over the city and rural areas.

Recovery work is slow, and the risk of safety accidents is not going away.
