Three years after the spread of COVID-19, a Christmas Mass was held without distancing.

Archbishop Chung Soon-taek emphasized the message of peace, saying that he hoped that the grace of Christmas would descend on all those living in the ravages of war.

For the first time in three years since the spread of COVID-19, Christmas ceremonies where the number of attendees is not limited were held at cathedrals and churches across the country.



Myeongdong Cathedral was also visited by believers and citizens celebrating the birth of baby Jesus.



Beginning with the 'Manger Etiquette' ceremony in which Archbishop Jeong Sun-taek placed the baby Jesus in a manger,

With the bell ringing at midnight, the Christmas mass was held.



Archbishop Jeong wished that the grace of Christmas be fully poured out on the marginalized, poor, and sick people, North Koreans, and all those living in the ravages of war.



He also emphasized that we must overcome the increasingly prevalent 'exclusion' and 'confrontation', and urged us to acknowledge our differences and make efforts to respect and listen to each other.

Today (25th), a Christmas Mass was held in Kiev, the capital of Ukraine, ten months after the Russian invasion, and a large tree was erected in Mariupol, which suffered great damage from indiscriminate bombing by the Russian army at the beginning of the war.
