The Seoul Central District Prosecutor's Office's Fair Trade Investigation Division (Chief Prosecutor Lee Jeong-seop), which is investigating the case of unfair support of Hankook Tire & Technology's affiliates, summoned Hankook Tire Group Chairman Cho Hyun-beom as a witness today (23rd).
Hankook Tire is suspected of providing unfair support by buying tire molds manufactured by its subsidiary MKT (Korea Precision Works) at a higher price than other manufacturers from February 2014 to December 2017.
During the period of suspicion of unfair support, MKT recorded sales of KRW 87.52 billion, sales profit of KRW 37.02 billion, and operating profit of KRW 32.37 billion.
