A cargo ship tilted and was in danger of sinking in the sea near Eocheong Island in Gunsan City, North Jeolla Province, but all crew members were safely rescued.
According to the Gunsan Maritime Police Station, a report was received today (21st) at 8:53 am that a 1,865-ton cargo carrier was sinking in the sea 25km southwest of Eocheong Island.
The ship was tilted about 30 degrees to the left and she was found to be in danger of sinking.
The Coast Guard requested help from a fishing boat that was operating near the accident area and rescued all nine crew members at 10:04 am on the same day, about an hour after the report.
One of them complained of hypothermia and is undergoing first aid.
An official from the Gunsan Coast Guard said, "We are moving the crew to a patrol vessel and checking their health."
