YouTube tightens the screw.

The video streaming platform has decided to sanction users who write overly violent comments following the videos, reports BFMTV.

It happens too often that Internet users leave malicious messages against content providers.

Since a recent update to its application, YouTube has implemented new tools.

There are now technical improvements to track spam and detect bots posting live comments.

But the system now makes it possible to detect messages that violate the rules of the platform.

24 hour suspension for repeat offense

As soon as the tool detects a violent or hateful comment, it will be deleted.

Users making such comments will also receive a warning.

If the user continues their behavior, then YouTube will take further action.

The offender will be prohibited from posting a message for 24 hours.

According to the platform, this measure alone “would reduce the likelihood of the user leaving a malicious comment again.

For now, the new rule concerns comments written in English.

It should soon be extended to other languages.

YouTube cannot do without moderation tools.

Since the first six months of the year, the platform has removed more than a billion comments assimilated to spam.

“We know that bots have a negative impact on the live streaming experience, especially since chat is a great way to connect with other users and creators.

This update should make live streaming a better experience for everyone,” says YouTube.
