Since the

Spanish

startup

Hello Plant Foods

announced the launch of Hello Fuah!, its new product, at the end of November, the expectation to try this

foie made with 100% vegetable ingredients

has been such that the Madrid firm has had to multiply its production by six production.

"The plan was to put some 5,000 units in the Alcampo hypermarkets and in vegan stores, but after the great reception and the number of pre-reservation requests, we have had to launch about 30,000."

This is confirmed by Javier Fernández, founder of this company specializing in plant-based food, which already has the Hello Burger Healthy and Hello Bacon vegetable products on the market.

Interest has even reached restaurants such as

Zalacaín

and the rest of the Urrechu group establishments in Madrid, among others, which "plan to offer it to their customers, initially off the menu, shortly," according to Javier Fernández.

"We did not expect this welcome. We have sold everything before putting it on the market."

The high-quality vegan product, whose

appearance, colour, smell, taste and texture are practically identical to those of foie gras of animal origin

, is made entirely in Spain with natural ingredients and without preservatives and is expected to be available from Saturday December 17 in some 200 points of sale throughout Spain (63 hypermarkets in Alcampo and some 100 vegan stores), at a price of 7.90 euros and packaged in the classic 150 g Le Parfait glass jar.

"This also assumes a connection with the customer."

In the coming months, Fernández hopes

to reach 500 points of sale

and multiply production again.

They have already been contacted by the largest distributors in Spain for the professional format (catering), which is sold in 500 g pieces, and various supermarkets and hypermarkets as well as Alcampo.

The success, according to the executive, is due to the company's commitment to vegetable alternatives in food.

"Launches like this have a real impact and their great reception shows that it is a real need for the population, which is increasingly aware of how to get foie gras."

Very real

Composed of water, cashew nuts, coconut oil, yellow lentil flour, potato starch, salt, natural flavors, turmeric, armagnac, sucrose, spices, sunflower oil and beetroot extract,

Hello Fuah!

reproduces the organoleptic characteristics of animal foie gras

, making it a hyper-realistic alternative.

Its visual appearance, with yellow (higher fat) and pinkish-ivory, the two colors associated with foie gras, its silky, firm and unctuous texture, and its smell and flavor are unmistakably reminiscent of traditional foie gras.

"The characteristics are so similar to that of one of animal origin that a consumer will hardly notice the difference. Everyone who tries it tells us that it is hyper-realistic," says Javier Fernández.

To develop it, the Hello Plant Foods R&D department invested

more than a year of research

, until it achieved, as in the case of its other two products, the vegetable hamburger and bacon that have been on the market for more than a year, a vegan food, without any ingredient of animal origin and with characteristics as similar as possible to meat products.

Javier Fernández founded Hello Plant Foods in 2021, firmly committed to a more sustainable and healthy diet.

"Thanks to the quality of our products, we have managed to ensure that the most carnivorous customers not only do not have to give up the experience of eating meat, but also feel that they are positively impacting the planet and animals," he settles.
