The prosecution is summoning and investigating Lee Seong-yoon, a researcher at the Seoul Central District Prosecutor's Office at the time, regarding the suspicion that former Justice Minister Choo Mi-ae conducted a so-called "screening inspection" for the purpose of resigning then Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol.

Researcher Lee Seong-yoon met reporters in front of the Central District Prosecutors' Office on the morning of the 16th and said, "I felt an unbearable sense of contempt," saying that he heard verbal abuse from President Yoon Seok-yeol (then Prosecutor General) when he was investigating Justice Minister Han Dong-hoon (then chief prosecutor). .

Referring to the testimony of former Supreme Prosecutor General Han Dong-soo at the personnel hearing of Minister Han Dong-hoon in May, Lee said, “I think it must be true. This is because I heard a similar statement from former President Yoon when I was investigating former prosecutor Han, who was involved in the Channel A case.”

Commissioner Lee added, "Over the phone, former President Yoon poured out unstoppable words and shouted, 'Is there anything you can see?'"

Commissioner Lee claimed that the prosecution's investigation against him was a 'retaliation investigation'.

Commissioner Lee emphasized, "Former President Yoon, who interfered with the investigation and inspection of the Channel A case, was disciplined, and the Seoul Administrative Court clearly ruled that the disciplinary action against former President Yoon was justified."

He added, "When the misconduct is confirmed by a judgment, the frame is shifted, the responsibility is shifted, and a specific person is overturned with a red flag and a retaliatory investigation is carried out. It's really sad," he added.

Detective Division 5 of the Seoul Central District Prosecutor's Office (Chief Prosecutor Choi Woo-young) summoned Lee as a suspect and is investigating.

Researcher Lee is accused of being involved in the transfer of prosecution data, such as call details, obtained under the pretext of supervising a then chief prosecutor in connection with the 'Channel A case' in October of last year to the Ministry of Justice's Inspection Committee, which supervised President Yoon. there is.

During the inspection of the Ministry of Justice at the time, President Yoon, who was then president, was suspended for two months for writing and distributing documents on suspicion of inspection by the court, obstructing the supervision and investigation of the Channel A case, and undermining political neutrality as a prosecutor.

In today's investigation, the prosecution is said to be investigating whether Lee, who was then the chief of the Seoul Central District Prosecutor's Office, approved the delivery of data or exerted undue pressure in the process.
