Residents who oppose the construction of a mosque in Daehyeon-dong, Buk-gu, Daegu, are causing controversy by holding a barbecued pork feast in front of the construction site.

Yesterday (15th), a whole pig barbecue feast was held in Daehyeon-dong, Buk-gu, Daegu.

What matters is the location.

Because it is near the mosque construction site.

This feast was held by residents who opposed the construction of the mosque.

It seems to be aimed at the fact that eating pork is taboo in Islamic culture.

The conflict over the mosque began in 2020 when Daegu Buk-gu approved the construction of the mosque.

The construction was temporarily halted due to the opposition of residents who found out later.

Then, the owner of the temple filed a lawsuit against Buk-gu, Daegu for 'cancellation of suspension of construction', and following the first and second trials, the Supreme Court also sided with the owner, but the conflict continues.

Some residents caused controversy last October by placing pig heads in front of a mosque construction site.
