A man in his 60s who tried to set fire to the building owner's office, saying it was noisy due to building remodeling, was arrested at the scene.

The Seoul Gangseo Police Station said yesterday (15th) that it had applied for an arrest warrant for a 60-year-old surnamed Jeong who set fire to an office building in Gangseo-gu, Seoul at around 4:20 pm on charges of attempted arson.

Jeong went to the building owner's office, sprinkled kerosene prepared in advance on his body and the office floor, and tried to light it with a lighter.

It was investigated that Mr. Jeong was running a golf-related business in the basement of this building.

In a police investigation, Mr. Jeong is known to have stated, "I saw damage such as a decrease in shop customers due to noise and discomfort due to the remodeling work on the first floor of the building that started about a month ago."

The police analyzed CCTV and investigated the exact circumstances of the incident, while also requesting an arrest warrant for Mr. Jeong.
