Today (10th), the day after the end of the general strike at the Cargo Solidarity Headquarters of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions, Public Transport Union members held a rally and demanded the continuation and expansion of the safe fare system.

About 1,000 members of the public transportation union held a resolution rally in front of the Korea Development Bank in Yeouido-dong, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, arguing for the safety of the fare system, condemning the Yoon Seok-yeol government for destroying the union, and condemning the National Assembly for neglecting public safety.

Hyun Jung-hee, chairman of the Public Transport Workers' Union, said in his speech, "The cargo union strike, despite the government's unconstitutional business start order and the Fair Trade Commission's illegal suppression, made the people aware of the need for a safe fare system."

He continued, "The Yoon Seok-yeol regime and the power of the people violated the law and promises, and the National Assembly used public welfare as a tool for political struggle."

Lee Bong-joo, head of the Cargo Solidarity Headquarters, said, “The Cargo Solidarity temporarily stopped fighting to protect the precarious logistics industry and minimize the damage and injuries to cargo workers. I do,” he said.

After the convention, they marched to the Yeouido Democratic Party and People's Power Party and concluded the event.

The cargo union has been on a general strike since the 24th of last month, demanding the abolition of the safe fare sunset system and the expansion of applicable items.
