The director of a daycare center in his 60s who abused and killed a 9-month-old boy for not taking a nap on time has been put on trial.

Later, through a supplementary investigation by the prosecution, it was revealed that there were more abused children.

Today (7th), the Suwon District Prosecutor's Office (Chief Prosecutor Kim Bong-joon) arrested and indicted A (65), the director of a daycare center, on charges of violating the Child Abuse Punishment Act (child abuse and murder).

On the 10th of last month, Mr. A is accused of killing 9-month-old victim B at his daycare center in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi-do, by lying on his stomach for not sleeping, then covering him with a blanket and pressuring B with his body.

After the nap time was over, when he did not wake up after waking Group B, the nursery teacher gave artificial respiration and CPR, but when Group B did not regain consciousness, it was investigated that he reported to 119.

The prosecution, who took over the case from the police on the 18th, secured CCTV footage of the crime scene at the time and conducted supplementary investigations, such as investigating the accused, to materialize the alleged crime of Mr. A and additionally uncovered allegations of abuse against other children.

The CCTV footage obtained by the prosecution showed Mr. A continuing to press B for several tens of minutes.

In addition, from the 3rd to the 10th of the same month, it included scenes of physically abusing 25 times, such as leaving Group B sitting on a high chair for a long time.

During the same period, it was confirmed that other children, including a 2-year-old child and a 10-month-old child, were abused 40 times, such as hitting their heads or pushing their bodies to fall.

An official from the prosecution said, "It is a case in which the charges of murder were clearly identified through a thorough supplementary investigation and additional acts of abuse were identified and indicted." I will pray for you," he said.

Meanwhile, Mr. A is known to be denying the charges of child abuse and murder with the purpose of "what happened while taking good care of the child" in the prosecution's investigation.
