A man in his 20s who contacted a male high school student hundreds of times over four days and went to his house was sentenced to a fine.

The Seoul Eastern District Court sentenced Mr. A in his 20s, who was handed over to trial for violating the Stalking Crime Punishment Act, to a fine of 3 million won and ordered him to complete a 40-hour treatment program.

Mr. A met the victim in the neighborhood in April and received his contact information.

Afterwards, the victim student refused to contact me, but was accused of sending and calling more than 300 texts and KakaoTalk messages over four days.

He even visited the victim's house and sent messages such as 'I'm in front of the house now' and 'Are you alone'.

As the Stalking Crime Punishment Act came into effect last October, continuous or repeated stalking is punishable by imprisonment for up to 3 years or a fine of up to 30 million won.
