Stay motivated.

Who has never taken, one day, the good resolution to really get into sport without ever taking action?

No time, fluctuating motivation… Then there remains the solution of taking control thanks to applications, in particular fitness.

A little news, inspired by video games, should see the light of day in September 2023. Its name: My Kenko.

Its originality: using an avatar to make you progress.

Hosted by an incubator, My Kenko is one of the Lille start-ups participating, until Friday, in the IoT Week show (see box) which is held at Euratechnologies, in Lille.

Because the project, which was born in July, follows a call for projects from the metropolis of Lille concerning the development of sport in business.

"The theme was digitalization, cohesion and health," recalls Touba Boumaïza, co-founder of MyKenko.

I decided to embark on this project to democratize the practice of sport.

avatar in the metaverse

For this former middle-distance athlete, it was an opportunity to put her passion for sport to good use, by combining her studies in business school and the scientific innovation brought by her nephew partner.

The principle of the app is quite simple: create an avatar in the metaverse – this parallel virtual universe – to be able to transport yourself immediately to a sport or relaxation practice.

Be careful, in any case, it is you – and not your digital alias – who play sports and will sweat profusely.

"We are creating a game universe where it will be possible to practice two types of activities: the ninja path focused on combat training and, later, dance or the path of wisdom with meditation and yoga" , explains Touba Boumaïza.

Full synchronization of gestures

It will, of course, be possible to train with several people in a collaborative system.

But the novelty of My Kenko lies elsewhere.

Thanks to a total synchronization of gestures between the user and his avatar (via a camera), postures and movements can be corrected and improved in real time.

"The digital solution must make it possible to perfect its activity and improve the dynamics of well-being", underlines the manager.

For now, the project is submitted to a group of fifty beta testers.

“Later on, we can also add the notion of mental preparation to feel better in our body and in our head,” continues Touba Boumaïza.

We always think performance when we talk about sport, we are rather on a human approach behind the athlete.

The price of this app is not yet fixed, but according to her, it will be around 10 euros per month.

The "innovators" of Euratechnologies

During the IoT Week event, the co-founder of My Kenko, Touba Boumaïza, will be one of the guests of a round table called “the innovators”, Friday, at 2 p.m., at the CITC cluster, at Euratechnologies Lille.

She will present her project there.
