This morning (6th), about 1 cm of snow fell in the central region, and the city center of Cheongju was completely paralyzed by this amount of snow.

Citizens who experienced great inconvenience on their way to work burst into anger at the belated response of local governments.

Roads in downtown Cheongju have turned into gigantic parking lots.

Vehicles are standing still endlessly and traffic lights are constantly changing.

Vehicles going up the icy road turn back and the driver sprinkles sand directly on the downhill road.

Traffic on the way to work in the city center was paralyzed by the snow of only about 1 cm.

Even though it's well past rush hour, the roads are still congested.

The commute to work, which normally takes 10 to 20 minutes, took more than two hours, resulting in late arrivals at work, and final exams in middle and high schools were delayed.

[Kim Hwan-gi/Citizens on the way to work: Everyone must have been late because the cars were so crowded.]

[Kim Young-in/Citizens on the way to work: It's the first time that (traffic) is jammed because it snowed this much.] The traffic congestion on the

way to work was largely attributable to the slow response of the local government.

It is.

It was around 6:50 when the police requested snow removal work from Cheongju City, but the actual snow removal work did not start until nearly two hours later.

[Cheongju City Hall official: We didn't prepare the snowplow from dawn in advance, but we contacted them when the snow started blowing, so it was delayed.]

Traffic accidents also occurred in various places on the highway due to the sudden snow.

Near the Seocheongju Interchange on the Jungbu Expressway, three vehicles collided one after another, injuring one person, and a large truck fell to the right near the Danyang Rest Area on the Jungang Expressway.

Near the Singal Junction on the Gyeongbu Expressway, two large buses and a minibus collided, injuring 24 people, including passengers.
