Today (2nd) at around 1:44 pm, a cargo helicopter carrying construction materials crashed on the 7th ridge of Mt. Bongmyeong, Maseong-myeon, Mungyeong-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do.
At the time of the accident, a captain in his 50s was aboard the helicopter, and he escaped on his own, fire authorities said.
The captain was reported to have suffered minor bruises.
There was no damage to the helicopter, but it was found that the captain left the helicopter at the scene and descended in preparation for an unexpected secondary accident.
The accident helicopter is a BK-117 and can carry a load of up to 400 kg.
A firefighting official said, "We determined that the helicopter crashed as the wind blew strong while being able to talk to the occupants."
