Former Justice Minister Cho Kuk, who was charged with corruption in the entrance examination of his children and ignoring the inspection, was sentenced to five years in prison.



At the decision trial against former Minister Cho, which was held as part of the Seoul Central District Court Criminal Agreement 21-1 hearing, the prosecution asked the judge to "sentence the defendant to five years in prison and a fine of 12 million won, and order an additional collection of 6 million won." requested.



Former Minister Cho was handed over to trial in December 2019 on charges of corruption in the entrance examination of his children and fraudulent acceptance of his daughter's scholarship.



In January of the following year, former Minister Cho was additionally indicted for evading the supervision of former Busan City Vice Mayor Yoo Jae-soo when he served as the Blue House's chief civil servant.
