The 2nd Truth and Reconciliation Committee (Truth and Reconciliation Committee) announced on the 28th that it had decided to open 61 investigations, including the 'suspicion of manipulation of prosecutors' at its 45th meeting.

This case is a suspicion that the prosecution committed illegal confinement and cruelty while investigating Mr. A, who was in charge of the complaint at the Seoul Central District Prosecutor's Office in 1990, on charges of destroying the complaint and forging and sealing the seal of the receptionist at the Supreme Prosecutor's Office.

In October of that year, Mr. A was handed over to trial for conspiracy with fellow investigator Park Mo, and was sentenced to one year in prison and two years of probation.

The truth and reconciliation committee explained that it decided to start an investigation considering the fact that Mr. A insisted that the prosecution forced him to resign and committed harsh acts, and Mr. Park also stated that Mr. A, who had nothing to do with the case, was an accomplice because of threats and conciliation. .

Cases in which inmates in prisons in various regions of the country, including Daejeon and Daegu, were sacrificed by the military and police after the Korean War, and civilian victims in Chungnam, Seosan, and Dangjin were also included in the investigation this time.

Since the launch of the 2nd Truth and Reconciliation Committee in December 2020, the number of truth-finding applications until the 17th of this month is 18,156 cases (20,086 applicants), and the application deadline is until December 9th.
