Things have been moving at Twitter since Elon Musk took over the company.

Recently, the American billionaire granted a "general amnesty" to many accounts that had been suspended on the social network, reopening the door wide to hate speech and fake news according to some observers.

In the worst case scenario, the app could disappear from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

But if that happens, Elon Musk has already planned the parade: create his own smartphone with an independent operating system, reports Phonandroid.

Evading App Store Commissions

Asked about the possibility of seeing Twitter disappear from application stores, the CEO confirmed this project, which he had already mentioned in the past.

"I sure hope it doesn't come to that, but yes, if there's no other choice, I'll make an alternative phone," Elon Musk tweeted last Friday.

For the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, the survival of the little blue bird is not the only concern.

Elon Musk is indeed one of the many disgruntled people who must, for the operation of their applications, submit to the commissions imposed by Apple and Android on their respective application stores.

The App Store charges 30% on all “in-app” purchases.

Thus, if Elon Musk succeeds in establishing his paid certification on Twitter, Apple will receive 2.40 dollars out of the 8 dollars that the monthly subscription would cost.

An exaggerated sum in the eyes of the billionaire.
