It was confirmed that the police were investigating after it was revealed that the mother had hidden the body after the death of her 15-month-old daughter and had been covering it up for three years.

Her biological father, who was not at her home at the time of her daughter's death, was later found to have moved her body into a kimchi tin and kept it on the roof of the villa until recently.

As a result of media coverage today (23rd), it was revealed that Gyeonggi Pocheon Police Station booked and investigated A (34, female) on charges of violating the Child Welfare Act and hiding a corpse.

Currently, the biological father, Mr. B (29, male), divorced from Mr. A, is accused of hiding the body.

The police are investigating that Mr. A left his 15-month-old daughter Miss C to die at her home in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province in early January 2020.

It is said that Mr. A habitually neglected and abandoned the child even before her daughter's death, such as leaving the house alone for a long time for reasons such as visiting her husband.

Afterwards, even though her daughter died, she did not report it to the authorities or take her to the hospital, but left the body on the veranda of her house and later moved the body to a carrier and temporarily stored it in her parents' house.

Mr. B, who was serving time in prison at the time of his daughter's death, was released a few months later and moved the body to the roof of the villa in Seoul, that is, Mr. A's in-laws.

The body in the kimchi container was hidden above a canopy installed on the roof, so it has not been seen by others, including other family members.

The crimes of those who thought they would be completely covered up were eventually revealed to the world by the administrative authorities at the time when Miss C was 4 years old if she was alive.

Miss C's address was in Pocheon, a relative's house, but the city of Pocheon, suspicious of the fact that neither infants' health checkups nor daycare registrations, reported her missing to 112.

I contacted Mr. A several times to find out the whereabouts of Miss C, but I reported it when she did not respond properly.

The case was filed with the police on the 27th of last month, when it had already been nearly three years since Miss C's death.

At first, Mr. A, who denied the fact of his daughter's death, saying, "I abandoned my child on the road," eventually confessed when the police pressed him through the introduction of a profiler and the results of digital forensic analysis.

The police who recovered the body based on his confession requested an autopsy, but the cause of death is still unknown due to the serious corruption.

During the police investigation, he claimed, "I saw the child dead in the morning," and stated the reason for hiding the body, saying, "I did it because I thought the child would be suspected of being dead."

The police are intensively investigating the exact circumstances of the incident and the motive for the crime against them.
