Four people were sentenced to prison for each day charged with abusing a college student suffering from a disability.
Daegu District Court 3rd Criminal Exclusive (Presiding Judge Ji-na Kim) yesterday (16th) sentenced Mr. A in his 20s to 5 years in prison, two others to 3 years and 6 months in prison, and another 6 months in prison months each.
They were handed over to trial for a month from July of last year on charges of physical abuse, such as burning the body of college student B (20) with a cigarette and feeding it with butts.
He is also charged with hitting Mr. B with a sack or dropping him into a reservoir.
After meeting Mr. B through social media, they built up a friendship and induced him to run away.
Their brutal crimes were revealed when Mr. B's father reported them to the police.
The judge explained the reason for the sentencing, saying, "The victim suffering from a disability feels extreme pain and frustration and is still unable to sleep properly."
