The Seoul Central District Prosecutor's Office's Fair Trade Investigation Department prosecuted without detention former and current executives and employees of Samsung Electronics, Samsung Welstory Corporation, and former head of the Future Strategy Office, Choi Ji-seong, who are accused of 'pending food service' at the group level on charges of violating the Fair Trade Act.
From 2013 to the year before last, they are accused of unfairly supporting Samsung Welstory by mobilizing four subsidiaries, including Samsung Electronics, Samsung Display, Samsung Electro-Mechanics, and Samsung SDI, to direct food service worth trillions of won to Samsung Welstory.
In addition, he is also charged with destroying evidence by instructing company employees to delete related documents containing the circumstances of the crime.
Regarding the allegations of breach of trust filed by civic groups, the prosecution judged that it was difficult to see that Samsung Group affiliates suffered property damage due to the distribution of school lunches, and dismissed the prosecution.
