You've heard that bees are disappearing.

The exact reason is unknown, and last year, the beekeepers suffered a lot of damage, but the same thing has been happening again a few months ago.

Reporter Yoon Hye-rim of KNN covered the story.

<Reporter> This

is a beekeeping farm in Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam.

When I open the hive, there are no bees that should be full inside, and the hive is dry and twisted.

Bees started disappearing from last August.

[Jang Si-don / Beekeeping: There is not even one.

They all went out and died.]

In the case of this farmhouse, the phenomenon of bees disappearing again this year, following last year, is in a state of severe damage.

Last year, only 50 out of 200 hives were recovered, but this year, only 30 out of 150 hives remain.

This is the first time in my 40 years of beekeeping experience.

[Jang Si-don / Beekeeping: We have been doing it for a long time, so if you look closely at the management error or disease of beekeeping, you can see it.

Since August, I have had the feeling that an unpredictable disease is coming.]

Not only Hapcheon, but all over Gyeongnam are in a similar situation.

Until last March, half of the bees of bee farms in Gyeongsangnam-do had been damaged, and the number of outbreaks since then has not been even counted.

Gyeongnam Province has increased its budget for next year, including beehives and equipment, to support beekeeping farms.

However, beekeepers are calling for stronger support, claiming that the damage is at the level of a disaster for the second year in a row.

[Seong Dul-ryun / Head of Hapcheon-gun Branch of Korea Beekeeping Association: I hope that you can find out the exact cause and come up with a way for beekeepers to live.

Our beekeepers cannot do it.]

Although the government is stating that the disappearance of bees is a complex cause such as 'bee mites', which are mites, farmers are only looking at empty beehives without convincing or preventing damage.
