Today, Thursday, the 10th, the concentration of fine dust in the air will be very high in most areas of the country.

There was also thick fog throughout the interior.

An ultrafine dust (PM2.5) advisory has been issued for Seoul, Gyeonggi, and northern Chungnam.

An advisory is issued when the average concentration of ultrafine dust at the local air quality monitoring station for one hour is 75㎍ or more per 1㎥ for 2 hours.

As of 8 am, fine dust levels in the metropolitan area, Gangwon, Chungcheong, Sejong, Daejeon, Jeonbuk, Gyeongbuk, Daegu and Gwangju are 'bad'.

Fine dust (PM10) in the metropolitan area and North Chungcheong Province is also at a 'bad' level.

Ultrafine dust is bad when it is 36~75㎍ per 1m3, and fine dust is 81~150㎍ per cubic meter.

The National Academy of Environmental Sciences today predicted that fine dust levels in the metropolitan area, Gangwon-yeongseo, Chungcheong, Jeonbuk, Daegu, and Gyeongbuk would be 'bad' and 'normal' in the rest of the region, but at a 'bad' level in Gwangju at one point in the morning. This is because fine dust generated in Korea is stagnant and accumulates in the atmosphere.”

When the fine dust is thick, refrain from going out as much as possible and wear a mask when going out.

In addition, efforts should be made to prevent additional fine dust generation, such as using public transportation instead of a private car when traveling.

In Gyeonggi-do, Yeongseo inland, Gangwon-do, and Chungcheong, as of 7 am, visibility is less than 200m due to thick fog.

Currently, visibility is only 50m in Paju-si, Gyeonggi-do (Panmunjeom), Cheonan-si, Chungnam, and Eumseong-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do.

Most of the fog will be gone by 10 am.

However, in some areas, there will remain a light mist or a haze of atmospheric dust during the day.
