The cause of death of a father in his 70s, who was assaulted by his son at a house in Gochang, Jeollabuk-do, was found to be 'shock death due to head injury'.

The Gochang Police Station announced on the 9th that the National Forensic Research Institute (hereinafter referred to as the National Forensic Service) had delivered the autopsy findings of the deceased person.

The National Forensic Service analyzed that the direct cause of death was that Mr. A suffered a major head injury due to an external force.

In response, a police official explained, "Severe wounds on the victim's head could be confirmed even with the naked eye.

Based on the results of the autopsy, the police believed that Mr. A had been repeatedly assaulted on the head by his son B (40) just before his death, and pointed to a mug with blood stains found at the scene of the crime as a tool.

The mug was broken at the time of discovery, and it was estimated that the intact mug must have been damaged during repeated assaults.
