A legal battle between Gyeonggi-do and Ilsan Bridge operator over the toll free of charge ended with the operator winning.

Accordingly, Ilsan Bridge toll collection is expected to be maintained.

Yesterday (9th), the Suwon District Court upheld the side of Ilsan Bridge in a lawsuit filed by Ilsan Bridge Co., Ltd. against Gyeonggi-do to 'cancel the business designation and ban the collection of tolls'.

The court said, 'It is true that toll fees are borne, but it is difficult to see that the burden is large enough to limit basic rights when compared with user benefits.

Ilsandaegyo Bridge is a six-lane bridge that connects Beopgot-dong, Goyang-si and Geolpo-dong, Gimpo-si.

Previously, in October last year, Gyeonggi Province took the first public disposition of canceling the designation of the project operator on the Ilsan Bridge to make the Ilsan Bridge free of charge and implemented the free passage of the Ilsan Bridge.

Ilsan Bridge protested against the disposition of Gyeonggi-do and filed a lawsuit for suspension of execution and cancellation, and as the court accepted this application for injunction, the free service was stopped.

Since Gyeonggi Province has expressed its intention to appeal against the judgment of the first instance, the fight is likely to continue.
