It's no good poking fun at Twitter's new CEO directly on his turf, as comedian Kathy Griffin has learned.

The American saw her Twitter account suspended overnight from Sunday to Monday, reports BFM TV.

She had changed her nickname and profile picture to pose as Elon Musk, for parody purposes.

The comic, known for his anti-Donald Trump stance, encouraged his subscribers to vote Democratic in the midterm elections in the United States and to leave Twitter to subscribe to Mastodon, the social network's main competitor.

A joke that does not pass

"After lots of heated discussions with the females in my life, I've decided voting Democrat is the right thing to do (these females are sexy too, by the way)," Kathy Griffin tweeted, picking up the writing style. by Elon Musk.

The latter did not like the joke and the humorist's Twitter account was suspended, without sending him a warning beforehand.

"In the future, Twitter accounts that impersonate someone else, without clearly specifying 'parody', will be permanently suspended," warned the group's new CEO.
