I said that the death toll from the Itaewon disaster was counted at 154, but the number of deaths that have not yet been confirmed was counted as 1.

Upon hearing the news of the death, the families of the missing people gathered in the hospital mortuary.

Dongguk University Hospital in Ilsan has the largest number of deaths.

Let's go to the scene.

Reporter Kim Hye-min, have you all been in touch with your family?

<Reporter>

Yes, some of the families of the missing people came to the funeral home of Dongguk University Hospital in Ilsan from noon today (30th) after hearing the sad news.

Twelve people who died were enshrined here, all of which are known to have met their families.

The process by which the bereaved family confirmed the deceased in the mortuary was heartbreaking in itself.

The sound of sobbing was heard even outside the mortuary, and the hearts of those around him were devastated.

In particular, many of the dead were in their 20s, so there were many parents crying by calling their children's names.

It is known that the police took over this because some of the bereaved families could not directly confirm the appearance of the deceased.

It is said that there are no families who have decided to make a mortuary here.

There were cases where the dead who arrived at the hospital were transferred to another place.

<Reporter>

Yes, yes.

As mentioned earlier, the number of deaths transferred to Dongguk University Hospital is the highest at 14.

Among them, three of the deceased were transferred to another funeral home according to the wishes of the bereaved family, and another seven are preparing for transfer.

This is because their hometown is far from places like Jeju Island or Jeolla Province.

In addition to this, 154 people were transferred to 40 hospitals in the metropolitan area, including Ewha Womans University Mok-dong Hospital, Suwon St. Vincent Hospital, and Pyeongtaek Cheil Funeral Home, each of which 7 were enshrined.

There is now only one death, whose identity has not yet been confirmed.

Those injured in critical condition are also being treated at hospitals in Seoul, including Seoul National University Hospital, Sinchon Severance Hospital, and Hanyang University Hospital.
