A female middle school teacher in Cheongju, North Chungcheong Province, suffered excessive corporal punishment and injured the student.

Yesterday (27th), the Chungbuk Office of Education announced that career counselor A recently hit Student B's face with the palm of his hand for 'playing pranks in the counseling room', and as a result, Group B suffered an eardrum rupture.

At the time, group B was known to have been subjected to corporal punishment in front of several of his classmates.

Afterwards, Mr. A claimed that she did not punish her, saying that it was "a legitimate act that occurred during the discipline process," but the school took the teacher out of school for 72 hours.

A school official said, "It was a case of violence that occurred while the teacher was disciplining students, and according to the School Violence Manual, the perpetrator and the victim were separated and reported to the police." "The principal directly contacted the victim's parents and apologized."

The police plan to call Mr. A and investigate the circumstances of the incident on charges of violating the Act on Special Cases concerning the Punishment of Child Abuse Crimes.
