Mr. A, a 20-year Agricultural Cooperative employee who left for the island

SBS reported the story of an Nonghyup employee who was suddenly assigned to an island because he spoke to the union president over two days (10.17-18).

Nonghyup employee A did not report it himself.

An acquaintance of Mr. A heard of the unfortunate situation and reported it to the private public interest group Work Gapjil 119.

SBS found out about it by chance, and after persuading Mr. A, we were able to interview him.

Farewell to Daughter (Reported on October 17th)

Mr. A is an employee of the local Agricultural Cooperative Federation for 20 years.

He has been in charge of bank teller and mart management.

On the 16th of last month, Mr. A was assigned to Voleumdoran Island three days after meeting with the union president.

Voleumdo is a place where two employees work, and there is no bridge connected to the mainland.

It takes about an hour by boat from Ganghwado to get there.

A mother of a 9-year-old daughter, the story of 30 days

Mr. A is a 'single mother' raising a 9-year-old daughter by herself while attending the Nonghyup.

Her daughter attends an elementary school, a five-minute drive from her home in Ganghwa-do.

Mr. A drove her daughter to school by car and then went to work.

The problem is that Voleumdo is a small island with a population of about 200 and has no schools.

In order for Mr. A's daughter to go to school, she has to take a boat to an island called Jumundo.

In the end, Ms. A left her daughter on Ganghwa Island due to school problems and had to remain alone on Voleum Island.

Mr. A was able to come back from the island just one month after the salutation was issued.

During this month, Mr. A went through several ups and downs.

Let's introduce the events that happened to Mr. A during the 30 days in more detail than what was reported on the air.

On September 16, interview with the union president

Mr. A worked as a mart store manager and cashier at a branch of Seoganghwa Nonghyup.

The president says that he visits the stores occasionally while traveling to seven branches within the Seogang Agricultural Cooperatives.

On September 16, the president of the union visited the place where Mr. A works.

Shortly thereafter he was called to bring Mr. A into his office.

Mr. A recognized that the atmosphere was not very good and took his cell phone.

He and he got to record.

Some of the recorded contents were released on SBS report.

The first half of the conversation is a rebuke for Mr. A's working attitude.

This is the content that Mr. A is scolding for complaining that he is not good at greeting customers who usually visit the mart.

At this time, Mr. A thought for a moment if he would say 'I'm sorry' and move on, but as it was the place he was facing right now, he asked the union president a counter-question.

Mr. A says he thinks he is doing well, and he asks who made the complaint.

From this point on, the voice of the union president begins to rise, and he calls the personnel manager.

On the spot, the president gives a greeting order to send Mr. A to Voleumdo, and tells him to remove an employee from Voleumdo.

The second half of the conversation is a conversation with the branch manager of the branch where Mr. A works.

The branch manager tries to mediate between the union president and Mr. A.

The branch manager scolded Mr. A to apologize to the union president immediately, and he said, 'The union president is the father.'

However, the conversation ends without Mr. A telling the union president that he did something wrong on the spot.

On September 19th, notice on the day of personnel appointment

Mr. A went to work on September 19th (Mon) after the interview was over on September 16th (Fri) and the weekend passed.

Personnel were appointed as instructed by the president of the union over the phone during the interview.

He is told to go to work at the Voleum branch from September 21st.

Mr. A worked normally on September 19 and took a leave the next day.

Because he wasn't ready to suddenly enter Voleumdo.

In fact, Mr. A's hometown is Boleumdo.

So he is well aware of the situation.

Most of all, he knows that his 9-year-old daughter doesn't have a school in Voleumdo.

September 21, Entering Voleumdo with

Daughter Mr. A enters Voleumdo with his daughter.

He knows he has no school to attend, but because he can't leave his 9-year-old daughter alone on Ganghwa Island.

Although he has his older sister and younger brother in Incheon, he was not in a position to come to Ganghwa Island every day to look after his daughter.

He eventually decided to take his daughter to Voleumdo once.

He applied to the school for off-campus experiences by September 30 as a temporary measure.

It means that his daughter's right to study has been taken away by Mr. A's appointment.

Mr. A learned how to get his daughter to go to school here.

The branch school in Voleumdo was closed early.

It is said that there was one other elementary school student in Boleumdo, who went to Jumundo, which is 5 minutes away by boat after the branch school was closed.

It was scheduled to take a boat every morning to Jumundo Island and then return to Boleumdo Island.

In the end, this student also said that her physical stamina was so exhausted that she left her father on Voleumdo, and went to Ganghwado with her mother.

On September 30, her daughter

A returned to Ganghwa Island and brought her daughter to Boleumdo, but she knew well that she could not raise her here unless school problems were resolved.

She then decided to keep her daughter at her original school after consulting with the Superintendent of the Ganghwado Office of Education Support.

She stays away on weekdays, and only on weekends, Mr. A meets at Voleumdo, and she decides to live in her original home in Ganghwado.

The problem is finding someone to raise a daughter who is left alone in Ganghwa Island.

I've tried asking her relatives for help, but it's not realistically possible to take care of her 24/7 right now.

So I decided to hire someone.

I looked for someone to take care of her daughter's way to and from school.

When I tried to save two people, it seemed that the cost of care alone would exceed 2 million won per month.

The Office of Education has reviewed a plan to provide 450,000 won per month as a subsidy for consolidated and abolished schools.

Like Mr. A's daughter, there was a system to help families who had to spend money on their way to and from school because there was no school in their residence.

Fortunately, in this situation, her friend's father, who attends the same school as her daughter, heard the plight and decided to take care of the back and forth roads.

On October 14, a friend's father, who had nowhere to go,

ran into a limit in taking care of Mr. A's daughter all weekdays.

After many twists and turns, my friend's father could no longer take care of Mr. A's daughter.

In the midst of this, the Office of Educational Support informed Mr. A that if her daughter was left alone like this, it could become a problem of child neglect.

Mr. A had to find someone to take care of her daughter in Ganghwa Island again.

However, when she was not saved, she again decided to take her daughter to Voleumdo as a temporary measure.

She decided to apply for an off-campus experience back to school.

The off-campus experience varies slightly from school to school, but it can be used up to 57 days, which is 30% of the total attendance days.

On October 17th, SBS reported

that Mr. A decided to go back to Boleumdo Island with his daughter that day.

However, the ship could not depart due to bad weather, and Mr. A and his daughter remained on Ganghwa Island.

On this day, SBS reporters introduced Mr. A's story in the 8 News time.

The day after the report, Mr. A went back to the boat in the morning to Boleumdo with his daughter.

And he got word from another co-worker that he was going to get a new appointment.

The problem is that the new place of work is the head office where the president works.

On October 18, two greetings were issued

Mr. A thought he was lucky to be able to come out of Voleumdo.

But the head office is where the union chief is.

In fact, it is a situation in which you have no choice but to meet the president of the union every day.

Although Mr. A did not formally report workplace harassment, it is another matter for the union president and Mr. A to be together in a situation where separation measures have not been taken.

Mr. A has expressed concerns about working at the head office.

Then the Seoganghwa Agricultural Cooperatives asked Mr. A to tell him where he wanted to work again.

After much deliberation, Mr. A hoped that the president of the union would work at a branch other than the head office and the existing place of work.

And Seoganghwa Agricultural Cooperatives asked me to tell me the exact place I wanted to work for, so I picked one.

It is said that the one workplace that Mr. A chose is a place where there are no relatives or close aides of the union president.

On October 21st, he and his daughter

came out of Voleumdo. Mr. A came out of Voleumdo on October 21st.

He entered Voleumdo on September 21st, and it was only one month since he entered the island.

After 5 days of paid leave, Mr. A starts working at his new job site.

As long as he came back to Ganghwa-do, he was able to live with his daughter.

The National Agricultural Cooperative Federation (NACF) has decided to directly investigate the matter.

From the perspective of Mr. A, the problem of raising his daughter and the problem of separation have been resolved, but he decided to investigate the local Agricultural Cooperatives in the hope that a victim like himself would never appear again.

Extra) A problem with Mr. A's working attitude?

After the SBS report, I looked at the comments.

Most of it was about cheering for Mr. A, but there are also points that Mr. A may have had a problem with his working attitude.

There was a counter-argument as to whether it was right to go to Boleum-do simply for the sake of answering questions.

There are three major problems with Mr. A's working attitude that the union president and branch manager revealed to the reporters.

The first is greetings.

He points out that he is not good at greeting guests.

It means that there have been steady complaints that Mr. A is not good at greeting mart customers.

It doesn't seem like a common complaint these days when a customer at a mart says they are displeased because they are not greeted by the staff.

However, Seoganghwa Agricultural Cooperatives explained that it is a big disrespect for the elderly who visit the mart as it is a small community.

If Mr. A is busy, he may not be able to say hello, but he is not saying he didn't say hello on purpose.

The second is lunch.

It is pointed out that Mr. A did not have lunch with his colleagues at the point where he worked before being dispatched.

Introverted Mr. A said that he did not eat lunch with his co-workers because he does not eat lunch or eats alone, even if he does.

It is said that the branch manager once gave a pint glass about this, asking if he would like to have lunch with the Nonghyup family like his family.

The third is coffee.

It is that Mr. A drank coffee alone at work.

It is pointed out that he did not drink coffee with his colleagues.

Although we do not know the exact working atmosphere of Seoganghwa Agricultural Cooperatives, it seems to be a place where employees' personal actions are strictly restricted.

The three points cannot be a justification for sending Mr. A to the island.

There are factors that the Labor Relations Commission considers when a claim for unfair telegram relief is received.

Whether it is necessary for work, disadvantages in workers' lives, and whether there is a due process.

Mr. A must have a special reason to work on the island, it must not cause any disruption to his life, and personnel must be appointed according to the normal procedure.

Even if Mr. A did not respond well to customers, eats lunch alone and drinks coffee alone, there is no way to send Mr. A to the island suddenly.

Moreover, the head of the union, who is responsible for personnel authority, is aware that Mr. A is raising his daughter alone and that there is no elementary school in Voleumdo.

Extra) Voleum also worked, who did it during that time?

As Mr. A came from Voleumdo, someone has to work at Voleumdo.

So, someone enters Voleumdo with this greeting.

There are two people working at the Boleum Junction.

One of them is said to be an employee who has lived in Voleumdo before.

Then he says that he has been taking turns taking over the one remaining position.

It is said that the president sent a new employee or an employee who was promoted in the previous year.

When Mr. A was decided to work at Boleumdo, the other employee was also a new employee.
