SPC Chairman Heo Young-in bowed his head and apologized for the death of an employee at a bakery factory in Pyeongtaek, an affiliated company, on the morning of the 21st.

Chairman Heo Young-in said, “I apologize to the deceased and his family and feel the responsibility.

I will humbly accept the harsh rebuke and criticism from the people.” He said, “It is wrong that the work was carried out near the accident site.

I also apologize to the staff.”

Hwang Jae-bok, president of SPC, said, “We plan to invest a total of KRW 100 billion over three years to strengthen safety management.”

Meanwhile, during the press conference, on the first floor of the headquarters, a member of the KCTU and SPC employees who were trying to enter the press conference collided.

The police and the Ministry of Employment and Labor finished a search and seizure of SPL's headquarters and bakery yesterday, and are investigating the cause of the accident by arresting the representative of SPL and a safety officer.
