A suspect who robbed an innocent person of sex trafficking after being framed for prostitution was arrested in the Philippines and repatriated to Korea on the 20th after six years.

According to the National Police Agency today (19th), Kim is accused of inviting businessman A to the Philippines in May 2016, reporting him as prostitution for minors, and demanding 500 million won in exchange for his release (joint blackmail under the Violence Punishment Act).

Businesswoman A, who met through an internet cafe in May 2016, invited Kim (48) and others to the Philippines to pay for flights and hotels.

Arriving locally, Mr. A ran into a girl who was believed to be in her teens in a reserved hotel room, and the girl suddenly started taking off her clothes.

Surprised Mr. A let the girl go, but the next day the Philippine police arrived and arrested him, saying, "We have received a report of prostitution of minors."

It turns out that everything was a 'setup crime' organized by Mr. Kim and Mr. A. Mr. A was caught up in a crime committed by Mr. Kim and his party.

A setup crime is a crime in which an innocent person is framed by manipulating the actual crime situation. Victims are caught in a crime without their knowledge, so even if they realize they have fallen into a trap, they are helpless.

After making a false report to the Philippine police, when the victim was detained, another party disguised as a lawyer approached him and asked for money, saying, "I need 500 million won to bribe the Philippine police."

Fortunately, Mr. A was cleared of the frame at the end of the investigation.

After that, suspect Kim will be repatriated to Korea on the 20th, six years after the crime.

According to the National Police Agency, Kim was arrested in cooperation with the Philippine police in 2020, but it is known that Kim's extradition was delayed due to the trial of another case committed in the area.

One in four Kim's members died in the Philippines in 2017, and the other was arrested in August and is undergoing repatriation procedures.

In addition, the police are tracking the other one in cooperation with local authorities.
