Apple modernized its product portfolio on Tuesday evening.

There are two revised iPads and a new Apple TV.

The iPad Pro, which has always been aimed at particularly demanding users, is the first tablet from Cupertino to receive the M2 processor, which was previously only installed in notebooks.

So far, the M1 has been used.

Photo and video editing benefit from the additional performance boost.

The WLAN speed is also increased, instead of Wifi 6, Wifi 6E is now on the agenda, so up to 2.4 gigabits per second are achieved.

The value remains theoretical because such routers are not widespread.

The iPad Pro comes in two sizes, with an 11-inch and 12.9-inch display.

Only the larger model gets the complex mini-LED lighting, which allows a high contrast ratio.

The front camera stays on the shorter side, which is unfavorable for video conferences.

With a new hover feature, the tip of an Apple Pencil 2 is recognized before it touches the display, Apple says.

This allows for greater precision when painting.

The 11-inch device starts at a price of 1050 euros (128 gigabytes of memory).

The 12.9-inch variant starts at 1450 euros.

The iPad Pro in the top configuration with two terabytes of memory and 5G mobile communications is the most expensive iPad of all time, it costs 3025 euros.

The devices will go on sale on October 26th.

The iPad without an additional designation, which is widely regarded as an entry-level device, is becoming significantly more expensive, now looks like an iPad Air and does without the home button.

The fingerprint scanner is located in the power button.

The 10.9-inch diagonal device is slightly heavier than the iPad Air, uses the iPhone 12's A14 processor, and has a USB-C socket instead of Lightning.

A keyboard can be docked with side connectors.

The camera for use in landscape format is on the long side and can follow the video call mode.

The older first-generation Apple Pencil is supported, which is a bit odd given that it charges with a Lightning connector.

The new iPad starts with 64 gigabytes of memory at 580 euros, the predecessor cost only 380 euros last year.

Both tablets will receive iPad OS 16, which will be released on October 24th.

Compatible with HDR 10 Plus

The streaming box from Apple is called Apple TV and is also being modernized to match the Christmas business.

Visually, the new Apple TV 4K is the same as the old one, although the battery of the remote control is now charged via USB C instead of Lightning.

The box supports UHD resolution and HDR playback with a larger contrast and color range.

The predecessor already knew the HDR version Dolby Vision.

Now the new Apple TV 4K is compatible with HDR 10 Plus, corresponding footage is available from Amazon Prime Video, for example.

The processor is the A15, which primarily benefits computer gamers.

The box is available in a small version with 64 gigabytes of memory for 170 euros and in a large version with 128 gigabytes (190 euros), which has other extras: an Ethernet connection and support for the Thread network protocol, which connects smart home devices better.

The Apple TV 4K will be available from November 4th.
