A fishing boat is turned over with the bottom exposed.

The Coast Guard approaches the fishing boat, but it is not easy as it is hit by high waves.

At around 2:40 am today, a report was received by the Coast Guard that it could not be contacted with the ship that was involved in a cutlass fishing accident.

Two Korean crew members, including a captain in their 50s, and two foreign crew members were on board the ship.

The accident vessel, which departed from Moseulpo Port on the evening of the 16th, lost its automatic identification device and AIS reception at 4 pm yesterday.

It is believed that the accident vessel considered her return to port due to bad weather conditions.

[Accidental vessel official: I said that we were entering Moseulpo

Port because there were a lot of waves, but the boat did not enter (in the port) and there was no boat in the anchored place (I reported it.)]

It is believed that the accident occurred while going out to preempt a seat.

[Kim Min-woo / Seogwipo Maritime Police Station Security & Rescue Division Manager: The weather was bad because a storm warning was in effect.

Did an accident occur while anchoring and waiting (presumed)]

It is known that it takes about an hour and a half from Moseulpo Port to the sea area of the accident, but it is known that the search is difficult due to strong winds blowing at the site.

In addition to the Coast Guard, naval ships and aircraft, they searched for about 10 fishing boats operating nearby.

There is a possibility that there are missing people inside the cabin, but due to bad weather conditions, it is not possible to enter the interior except for the wheelhouse.

The Coast Guard is continuing the search for the lifeboats as it is possible that the crew members escaped in the lifeboats that were on the fishing boats.
