Jeon Joo-hwan, who was sentenced to 9 years in prison in the first trial at the end of last month on charges of stalking and illegal filming, stood in court again as a defendant in the murder of the victim after 19 days.

Prior to the official trial, Jeon Joo-hwan appeared with his lawyer, even though he was not obligated to attend as it was a trial preparation date to determine how the trial would proceed.

The victim's side and the prosecution requested that the trial be conducted privately for fear of secondary damage, but the court decided that the trial would be held in public, saying that it did not fall under the reason for non-disclosure.

However, he said he would take action if any mention of the victim's private life during the trial.

Jeon Joo-hwan's side said that on the 14th of last month, he submitted a written opinion acknowledging the murder of a victim who was usually stalking at Sindang Station on the Seoul subway.

It was also confirmed that he submitted a statement of reflection to the court three times on the 11th, 13th, and 17th.

He appears to have taken into account the fact that pleading guilty and submitting an acknowledgment letter may affect the decision of the sentence.

During the 18-minute trial, Jeon Joo-hwan did not look around the audience even once.

The court said it plans to give a verdict after two trials in the future.

Before the trial, there were silent protests in front of the court to commemorate the victims.
