Leaving a WhatsApp group was, until now, announced to all members.

But an update is changing that.

It is, for the moment, only available on the App Store since last October 14;

reports Numerama.

For iPhone users, it is thus possible to leave a group discreetly.

This update is not yet available on Android.

So, it's worth keeping an eye on the Google Play Service to find out if the feature makes an appearance in the coming days or weeks.

Admins stay in the know

Until now, a message was displayed when a member left: "so-and-so has left".

It will now only be visible to one category of people: group administrators, who occupy a special status.

The announcement of this update was made in early August 2022 by Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Facebook and boss of Meta, which owns WhatsApp.

In a post, he then announced other changes, such as protection against screenshots.
