Bae, a close associate of Kim, who was charged with violating the Public Official Election Act related to the alleged misappropriation of corporate cards, of Kim Hye-kyung, the spouse of Lee Jae-myung of the Democratic Party of Korea, denied all charges at the first trial.

At the first trial held in the 12th criminal division of the Suwon District Court, the attorney for Bae, who was indicted without detention for donations and false information under the Public Official Election Act, denied the prosecution's charges.

Bae, who was in the 5th grade at the Gyeonggi Provincial Office, falsely said, "There is no fact of dealing with private affairs for the candidate's family" when allegations of 'beopka misappropriation' and 'illegal protocol' of Lee's spouse, who was then the then-Democratic presidential candidate, were raised around January. He was brought to trial on charges of speaking out.

Through the Public Affairs Team of the Democratic Party Election Countermeasures Committee, he made the public disseminate a letter of apology stating, "The use of Beopka was something no one did," and "I was trying to get someone else's prescription for the purpose of taking it." It was determined that all of Bae's allegations were false.

Bae made a donation under the Public Official Election Act by requiring Kim to pay 78,000 won for meals with a corporate card of the Gyeonggi Provincial Government, except for Kim, at a dinner party with three party-related officials at a restaurant in Seoul on August 2, last year. He is also charged with committing an act.

Bae is also accused of paying for Kim's personal food from July 2018 to September last year with a Gyeonggi corporate card or issuing an illegal prescription in the name of another person and passing it on to Kim, but this part is still being investigated by the prosecution. there is.

Considering the statute of limitations on the election law, the prosecution first concluded and prosecuted only the charges of violating the Public Official Election Act on the 8th of last month.

It is reported that Bae's corporate card misappropriation was about 150 cases, worth 20 million won.

Bae's attorney admitted that he used a corporate card for private use for the alleged donation under the Public Official Election Act, but argued that the defendant had no awareness of paying by card with the presidential election in mind.

Regarding the publicity of false facts, he said, "At least the main facts stated by the accused are not false." It is difficult to see that there was an intention to disclose the facts.”

The next trial is scheduled to be held on the 27th, and the prosecution plans to specify the list of evidence on the day and submit it to the court.
