Dozens of cell phones are pouring out when the police find the motorcycle luggage compartment that should have contained chicken.

It is a 'phone number change repeater'.

It is a device that converts '070' for international calls or Internet calls to '010' for regular mobile phone numbers, and is a key tool for phone financial fraud (voice phishing) crimes.

It is to reverse the psychology of people who think that voice phishing only comes from international calls or Internet calls.

The National Investigation Headquarters of the National Police Agency conducted a special crackdown from April to June of this year, and a whopping 9,679 repeaters were discovered.

Repeaters were found everywhere.

Households, motels, water tanks, forests, dog houses, and even people wore repeaters.

Voice phishing damage was also reduced thanks to early detection and blocking of repeaters.

In March of last year, the amount of damage was 95.2 billion won, and last month the damage was 31.6 billion won.

The National Police Agency urged people not to click or make phone calls on text messages for loans or government subsidies, and to send links by impersonating prosecutors, investigators, Financial Supervisory Service, or bank employees because it is a malicious app.
