More than ten years after the terrorist attacks in Toulouse and Montauban, the shadow of Mohamed Merah still hovers.

The entourage of the terrorist, killed on March 22, 2012 by the RAID after 32 hours of siege, is still the subject of intense surveillance.

According to information collected by Europe 1, investigators from the anti-terrorist sub-directorate (Sdat) of the central direction of the judicial police (DCPJ) carried out a dragnet this Tuesday morning in Toulouse and Albi to arrest five suspects.

Another showed up at the police station in the morning.

Given several profiles qualified as “sensitive” and “big fish”, the RAID assisted the operation.

Suspicions of Syrian residence

Most of this crackdown targeted women suspected of having stayed in Syria.

According to our information, they have already been taken into custody for suspicion of Syrian residence, which they contested at the time.

However, since then, elements collected during the investigations have shown the opposite.

During the surveillance carried out by the investigators, these women were very cautious with regard to possible eavesdropping and shadowing.

These six suspects have been taken into custody.

They can last up to 96 hours.
