An elderly person discharged from the hospital was recorded as a death by a 'click' mistake by the nursing hospital, and the old-age pension was cut off.

According to Gunsan City today (4th), on the 16th of last month, on the bulletin board of 'I wish the mayor' on the website of Gunsan City Hall, a civil complaint with the title 'The living father is (registered) dead' was posted.

The petitioner, who introduced himself as a citizen of Mijang-dong, Gunsan-si, said, "My father's basic pension for the elderly has not been deposited since last June. said.

The complainant who learned of this said, "To solve the problem, I called the Community Center 3 times, the Social Welfare Department (Gunsan City) 3 times, the Korea Funeral Promotion Agency 1 time, the Housing Finance Corporation 2 times, and the nursing hospital 7 times, but I couldn't figure out where the mistake was. “Even now, my father is a suspect in death,” he said.

He then asked, "It's absurd that a living person is so easily recorded as an administrative death. Is there any provision that can legally hold the supervisory authority responsible for an institution that incorrectly registered as a suspected death?"

The city of Gunsan, which started an investigation when the complaint was received, confirmed that the hospital made a mistake while the complainant's father was hospitalized and discharged from the nursing hospital.

Gunsan City said, "As a result of field investigation, it was confirmed that the hospital staff mistakenly mistakenly dismissed a discharged patient as a dead patient and notified the patient as a deceased patient during the discharge payment process. However, during the payment process, the employee accidentally clicked 'death' instead of 'discharge'."

When the problem surfaced, Gunsan City apologized to the complainant and returned the unpaid basic pension, and the nursing hospital took measures to correct the mistaken notification of death to the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service immediately and correct it as a general discharge.

However, it has been found that there is no provision for administrative disposition in the Medical Act regarding the notification of death and error due to carelessness of nursing hospital staff, and therefore cannot be held legally responsible.

A Gunsan city official said, "We advised the hospital to thoroughly educate employees so that similar complaints do not occur in the future, and administrative guidance was given to correct the notification of death errors immediately."
