The results of a public opinion poll showed that the positive evaluation of President Yoon Seok-yeol's performance in state affairs turned down after 4 weeks due to the 'controversy of profanity' during the tour last month, recording the low 30%.



As a result of a Realmeter survey of 2,522 adults across the country from the 26th to 30th of last month at the request of the Media Tribune, 31.2% of the positive evaluations of President Yoon's performance in state affairs (very good 17.4%, good 13.8%) and negative evaluations were 66% (very wrong 59.9%, wrong 6.1%), respectively.



Compared to the previous week, the positive evaluation decreased by 3.4 percentage points (34.6% → 31.2%), and the negative evaluation increased by 3.8 percentage points (62.2% → 66%).



This positive evaluation is the lowest since the second week of August (30.4%) according to the Realmeter survey, and it was close to the lowest point of 29.3% in the first week of August.



Recently, the positive evaluation of President Yoon's state affairs operation showed an upward trend (32.3% → 32.6% → 34.4% → 34.6%) from the 5th week of August to the 3rd week of September based on the Real Meter, but turned to a downward trend in the 4th week of September.



By region, the positive evaluation rose in Daejeon, Sejong, and Chungcheong (2.3 percentage points↑), but the negative evaluation increased by President Yoon's core supporters, Daegu and Gyeongbuk (8.1 percentage points↑), and Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam (3.5 percentage points↑). It also rose relatively in Incheon and Gyeonggi Province (5.8 percentage points↑).



Bae Cheol-ho, a senior expert at Realmeter, said, "Jungkook quickly cooled down while responding to the controversy over the president's use of profanity with 'subtitle manipulation' and 'distortion of the media' and threatened the approval rating of 30%." is expected to continue, which is expected to act as a downward pressure factor in the state evaluation.”



In terms of party support, the Democratic Party of Korea recorded 46.1%, up 1.1 percentage points from the previous week (45%), and the people's strength recorded 35.3%, down 2.2 percentage points from the previous week (37.5%).



The approval rating of the Justice Party, which is about to elect a new leader this month, was 3.9%, up 0.5 percentage points from the previous week (3.4%).



The sampling error of this survey is ±2.0% points at the 95% confidence level.
