From October, electricity bills will increase by more than 2,000 won per month for a family of four.

KEPCO announced today (30th) that the electricity rate is expected to rise by about 2,270 won based on a four-person household using the average amount of electricity by adjusting the electricity rate from next month.

KEPCO explained, "In order to provide a price signal for fuel price surges and to induce efficient energy use, we will raise the electricity rate of all consumers by 2.5 won per 1 kWh (kilowatt-hour) by reflecting the accumulated fuel cost increase factors."

If you add up to 4.9 won per 1kWh, which is the remaining increase in the standard fuel cost this year, which has already been announced and will be applied from next month, the electricity rate that will increase from next month will reach 7.4 won per 1kWh.

With this electricity rate adjustment, the monthly electricity bill burden for a four-person household (average usage of 307 kWh) will increase by an additional 760 won. .

In addition, KEPCO added that it will further increase electricity rates for large-capacity operators for industrial use and general use, but differentially adjust it according to the supply voltage.

Industrial (B) applies to businesses with contract power of 300 kW (kilowatts) or more that use power for mining, manufacturing, and other businesses, and “B” for general use applies to businesses with contract power of 300 kW or more, excluding other types.
