Early in the morning, a middle school student threatened a classmate with a weapon in a classroom.

The reason for the crime was that he was angry because he could not attend the experiential learning retreat.

Today (27th), the Gwangju West Police Station arrested a third-year middle school student A on charges of rioting with a weapon (special threat) in a middle school classroom in Seo-gu, Gwangju.

Group A is accused of threatening students in the same class by taking out the weapon he had brought from home around 8:15 am that day.

Some of the students, frightened by the weapon threat, ran to the teachers and reported that 'there was a knife riot going on in the classroom'.

The teachers immediately evacuated the students in the classroom where the crime took place, and the police responded to the report and, fortunately, there were no casualties.

As a result of the police investigation, it is known that Army A made a statement to the effect that "I was angry that only myself could not participate in the training activities."

Prior to the crime, it was confirmed that group A was selected as a target for special education from an external institution due to deviance from the school and was unable to participate in training activities.

A school official said, "The two students, who were very surprised, contacted their parents and sent them home immediately," said a school official.

The police are planning to investigate the circumstances of the incident, including the exact motive for the crime, against Army A.
