The court sentenced a woman in her 20s to a prison sentence for stalking a man in her 40s dozens of times even after receiving a restraining order.

According to the legal community today (26th), Detective 2 of the Seoul Western District Court (Chief Judge Young-chae Jang) was handed over to A (29), who was handed over to trial on charges of violating the Act on Punishment of Stalking Crime (Stalking Punishment Act), trespassing, and property damage. He was sentenced to one year in prison and ordered to complete 40 hours of a stalking treatment program.

Person A is accused of stalking continuously, knowing that victim B (40), whom she has known for 4-5 years, has been avoiding her, such as not answering the phone since last February.

From April 10 to 30 of the same month, it was revealed that Mr. A called Mr. B a total of 9 times and sent messages 25 times, and visited Mr. B's residence twice.

Accordingly, the court made a decision to take temporary measures to A from April 29 to June 28 to the effect of prohibiting access within 100 meters of the victim's residence, etc. and prohibiting cell phone contact. Called a key repairman to break the lock on the front door.

After that, Mr. A continued from May 24 to July 4, "Oppa, where are you sick? Are you in good health? I've been in touch with you for a long time", "I'm mad. Am I cheap? Why do you keep chewing?"

The stalking continued a total of 45 times, including contacting them through messages and phone calls.

At the dawn of July 4, he pretended to be handing out food and had the security guard open the common front door, then rang the doorbell on the front door of Mr. B's residence several times and tried to make a phone call.

To Mr. A, who eventually stood in court, the court pointed out, "It seems that the victim suffered considerable mental pain by ignoring the provisional measures and continuing the stalking crime." "A strict sentence is inevitable for Mr. A."

However, he explained the reason for the sentencing, saying, "It is advantageous to have no other criminal history other than the fact that he confessed and reflected on all the crimes and that he was punished with a one-time fine for the theft of the same victim as in this case."
