A man in his 20s who had been with a middle school girl who had been missing for more than two months was arrested.

According to the Gwangju West Police Station today (26th), the police booked a man in his 20s for violating the Missing Children Protection Act the day before.

Mr. A is accused of letting B (14), a middle school girl know that she ran away from the last July 18th to the 23rd of this month, but did not report it to the relevant authorities and made her stay at her own house in Yuseong-gu, Daejeon.

Earlier, the police started an investigation after receiving a report from a family that 'even after school time passed,' and the police confirmed that Miss B took a taxi to Daejeon using an express bus.

However, the police, who had difficulties in confirming the whereabouts of the taxi caught on CCTV, could not confirm the license plate number of the taxi in which Miss B was riding, and requested a digital forensic (electronic forensic appraisal) of Miss B's cell phone and computer.

After understanding the circumstances in which Miss B mentioned a restaurant in the Daejeon area, the police had been undercover and interrogated around the area since the 20th, and secured a report from a resident that they saw a similar person in the area. Found Ms. B in front of a nearby restaurant.

As a result of the investigation, it was revealed that Mr. A suggested that he come to Daejeon, where he lives, saying, 'I will provide lodging and meals' to Ms. B, whom I met on a mobile game messenger.

During the police investigation, Mr. A stated, "(Ms. B) ran away from home and saw that she had nowhere to go, so she was pitiful and kept her.

The police send Miss B to a child protection agency to receive emotional support such as counseling, while continuing the investigation into whether or not she was a victim of crimes while running away.
