Actor Kwak Do-won (49, real name Kwak Byeong-gyu), who lives in Jeju, was driving drunk while driving and fell asleep in the middle of the road near the intersection.



The Jeju Western Police Station announced on the 25th that they had booked Kwak Do-won on charges of drunk driving under the Road Traffic Act.



He was caught in a drunken crackdown by the police while he was asleep in his car with his SUV parked on a road near Eoeum Elementary School in Bongseong-ri, Aewol-eup, Jeju-si, around 5 am yesterday.



Police said, 'The car parked on the road is not moving.

After receiving a report from a resident saying that he was suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol, he went to the scene and woke him up while he was sleeping in the car and took a breathalyzer test.



It was confirmed that the blood alcohol level was higher than the license revocation value (0.08%).



At the time of his arrest, he obediently complied with the police's breathalyzer test.



He is known to have stated that the police drove a car from Hallim-eup to Aewol-eup.



Based on the statement that he drove a car from Geumneung-ri, Hallim to the vicinity of Eoeum Elementary School in Bongseong-ri, the location of the arrest, the police estimated that he drove about 10 km while intoxicated.



Police believe that Kwak Do-won fell asleep while waiting for a signal at the intersection.



The place where the car stopped was in the middle of a one-lane road near the elementary school, which almost led to a dangerous accident.



A police official said, "Fortunately, it was a simple drunk driving that did not lead to another accident."



Kwak Do-won's agency released a statement saying, "We deeply apologize for the unfortunate incident."



"Regardless of the reason, Kwak Do-won and his agency are feeling the responsibility without any excuses," he said.



Kwak Do-won debuted in 1992 and has appeared in films such as 'Steel Rain 2: Summit' (2020), 'International Investigation' (2020), and 'There Is No Goo' (2022).



He has moved and lives in Jeju.



In 2018, he acted as a Jeju-do ambassador.
