Two foreigners in Busan were arrested by the police on charges of raping our middle school students.

Those who came to attend an educational program held in Korea, and as a result of confirmation, one was a high-ranking public official.

Yesterday (22nd) around 11pm, the police were dispatched to a hotel in Dong-gu, Busan after receiving a report that two middle school girls were being held by foreigners.



The men arrested by the police in the hotel room on charges of sexual assault of a minor were 53-year-old A and 36-year-old Liberian male B, both of whom were confirmed to be Liberian officials.



It is known that those who met teenage women near Busan Station lured them to a hotel near the station where they were staying.



It is said that the victimized middle school girls and Liberia officials did not know each other but met by chance.

Mr. A was a high-ranking official in Liberia and Mr. B was holding a diplomatic passport, police said.



The police believe that B was not granted diplomatic status for service in Korea, so neither of them has immunity from immunity.



It is known that they visited Busan to attend an educational program jointly hosted by the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries and the International Maritime Organization, and stayed at this hotel to attend an educational program that started this Monday.
