Prosecutors who are investigating the 'Daejang-dong and Wirye development allegations' have summoned Choi Yoon-gil, former chairman of the Seongnam City Council.

The 3rd Anti-Corruption Investigation Department of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office summoned and investigated former Chairman Choi in the morning of the 21st.

Former Chairman Choi served as the chairman of the Seongnam City Council at the time of the development of Wirye New Town and Daejang-dong. In particular, in 2013, he took the lead in passing the ordinance on the establishment of Seongnam Urban Development Corporation, which led the two projects, at the plenary session.

Former Chairman Choi was arrested and handed over to trial on charges of receiving 4 billion won in bonuses from Kim Man-bae, the owner of Hwacheon Daeyu Asset Management, in return, but was released on bail last month.

Prosecutors plan to check the background of Seongnam City's push for the establishment of the Urban Development Corporation against former Chairman Choi and the situation in the parliament at the time.
