A 20-year-old man who detained his ex-lover in a car for 5 hours and drove without a license was sentenced to prison.

Today (21st), Changwon District Court's 1st Criminal Division (Chief Judge Kim Min-sang) announced that A (24), who was charged with confinement and violation of the Road Traffic Act, was sentenced to one year in prison.

Mr. A was brought to trial on March 14th at around 9:20 pm for driving violently around Busan and Gyeongnam, and detaining her ex-girlfriend Mr. B so that he could not get out of the car.

On this day, A had an argument with B in a car parked in downtown Changwon, and when B tried to get out of the car, he forcibly closed the door and entered the highway.

In the process, Mr. A stole the cell phone belonging to Mr. B and struck it several times at the steering wheel or threw it out the window.

As a result of the investigation, it was revealed that Mr. A was unlicensed at the time and violated the signal eight times on the evening of the 14th alone.

The court said, "The defendant committed a crime again despite a history of being punished for violence and drunk driving several times," the court said. Although he reoffended drunk driving, there were times when he was sentenced to a fine."
